Octave Sudan, or Octaaf, was an artist who followed a formation of decorative painting. First realistic, his work evolved to Post-Impressionism. He mainly painted the seasons in the Flemish Ardennes and the Laethem-Saint-Martin area where he lived. Octave Soudan was the older brother of Maurice Soudan.
